Greetings all DC members on this the 7th consecutive week of rain!

Please read the minutes (click here to download the Word document, 266KB)  These are reasonably full as I have tried to encapsulate key points from Frances Nelson’s presentation regarding the organisational review and strategic direction for NZEI.

Points to consider between now and our next meeting.

1. Next meeting will be in Balclutha on Friday November 28th. Please ensure that you provide reports at least one week beforehand email to murray.smeaton@nzei.org.nz and please print off and read prior to the meeting or at the very least read and note discussion points. The reports will be available HERE when received. Remember we are trying to reduce both paper and time spent on reports during our meeting.
2. The election 2008 toolkit was tabled at the DC meeting. All worksites should have one of these. Please encourage all members to use this and encourage other members to think about each party’s political stance at least in relation to education and NZEI’s priorities.
3. The organisational review discussion document is now available for feedback. Please encourage individuals and networks/ branches to respond to this.
4. Annual meeting is looming. Encourage delegates to attend fully prepared and ready to participate on members behalf.
5. Those people who were planning a slot for the November meeting need to contact Judy Hinton regarding the agenda and the time allocation for your contribution.
